an old piece - carp skeleton

i went home a couple weekends ago for my mom/bro's birthdays. i have quite a bit of old work still at my parents (sori tumas anai na apau)...and was trying to decide what to keep/throw out. anyway-this piece was from 2000. i don't like much of what i did back then - but i was struck by how this piece has similarities to the shapes of the current abstractions. haha-i still have the bones in my studio but haven't referenced it for a while. this piece was important (clc ~ i promise to keep this one too) b/c i fell in love with oil painting (and late afternoon light and shadow play) while doing this . its 2 x 4 ft.

- just finished these encaustics yesterday...yes, i lied-i didn't wait for a couple weeks to do more encaustics...but i only worked on them a bit to finish - they were nearly done a week ago. no numb wrists.
- each is 16 x 19 inches
- at the soovac gallery shop from sept 6 - mid nov?
